Crystal Firmin, FNP-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner, and the founder of Firmin Family Care. She brings over 20 years of nursing experience to the heart of rural Louisiana.  Her mission is to provide high-quality, compassionate and holistic care to individuals and families through every stage of life. 

Crystal began her nursing career after earning her Associate's degree in Nursing from LSUA in 2006.  She spent nine years caring for newborns in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) before transitioning into adult healthcare.  Her experience spans MedSurg, Home Health, ICU and Renal Telemetry.  In 2012, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, and in 2024, she completed her Master of Science in Nursing at Graceland University, becoming a certified Family Nurse Practitioner.  

Crystal founded Firmin Family Care to provide comprehensive and accessible primary care, with a special focus on bioidentical hormone therapy.  The clinic will soon expand to include integrated behavioral health services, reflecting Crystal's belief in treating the whole person--body, mind and spirit.  She is supported by a dedicated healthcare team who share her passion for delivering patient-centered care rooted in respect and compassion. 

Originally from Big Cane, Crystal has proudly called Plaucheville home for the past 20 years.  She and her late husband, Donnie, shared the dream of opening a family clinic to serve the community they loved.  Today, Firmin Family Care stands as a living tribute to that dream. 

 

Crystal and Donnie blended a beautiful family of seven children--two of whom are still at home--and eight cherished grandchildren.  Crystal's nurturing, family-oriented nature shines through in the care she offers every patient.
